Winnovation: A Harmonious Blend of Nature and Architecture

Fu Chu Hsu's Award-Winning Landscape Design Marries Human Ecology with Eastern Aesthetics

Winnovation, a landscape design by Fu Chu Hsu, is a testament to the harmonious blend of nature and architecture. Inspired by the aesthetics of eastern cultural gardens, this design introduces an aquatic ecosystem and multilevel plantings into the base, creating a serene environment that connects users with nature.

Fu Chu Hsu's design is unique in its approach to space utilization and environmental integration. The design features a capacious window view that allows users to enjoy the surrounding greenery, providing a sense of peace and tranquility. The inclusion of an ecological pond not only helps moderate the temperature but also contributes to the narrative of a cultural garden of greenery.

The realization of this design involved developing the land in a low-impact manner and building an environment-friendly base. The design team aimed to create a realm where people and nature can coexist beautifully. The greenery and eco pond not only help with the climate but also connect the base with the surrounding nature. The high green coverage ratio and the extension of the ecological passageway provide sufficient growing space for plants and insects, creating a sphere of human ecology.

The project, located in Taichung, Taiwan, spans 1500 square meters and was completed in December 2020. The design team took the surrounding environment into consideration during the design process. The concept of eastern cultural gardens was kept in mind, and the odds and ends space was utilized by introducing eco elements through the belt ecological pond. The pond runs through the base from east to west, leading people to the entrance on the west. With the lively ecopark and Dali River nearby, this becomes a complete ecotope.

One of the challenges faced during the design process was creating a rich and layered visual intensity. The water flows in the pond, fishes swim in it, and on the sides are dense bushes around the building. Next to the entrance stand trees that grow with the seasons. This all shows the richness in liveliness and layers of artsy visual intensity. The statue of a galloping horse, collaborating with the calm greenery, brings out the delicacy in the design.

Winnovation has been recognized for its unique and innovative design, having been awarded Silver in A' Landscape Planning and Garden Design Award in 2021. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
